I Wants to Talk to You!

Green Dream is a media project, which started as a film and eventually grew to become the first project where I put to practice my vision for creating media. It consists of three parts:  a poetic documentary film, a community mapping initiative, and an exploration of innovative ways of creation, community collaboration, funding and distributing media.

Green Dream is a story about a young filmmaker who sets out to explore our everyday interactions and attitudes towards GREEN, searching for the root of our conflicting relationship with nature.  In the process she discovers the answers to her questions in the most unlikely place.  read more

This project will create interactive web community maps of the green space hot spots (green spaces that are significant to communities and have been threatened by development in the past, present or future).  The maps will allow people to share why those spaces are significant to them and what are people’s dreams for the future of the hot spot.  The maps will concentrate on the areas of Canada and Bulgaria and will be used in the Green Dream documentary film and will also exist as an on-line resource for the community.

This project is currently in development.  See the first prototype (created with the support of the Banff New Media Institure) .

Green Dream is a process based project and there is a strong commitment to allowing oneself to try different routs, roads less traveled, little curvy paths, or ways not even taken before.  We would never arrive anywhere new if we stick to the map from the past.  We have to use the existing maps as guides and constantly recreate and update them in the present.

The making of this film is a social experiment. I need your help and support. You can help by:

Buying one of the beautiful Green Dream limited edition prints (which are uniquely printed on used materials such as coffee cups, old paper, envelopes)

GD Print 2

Purchasing a copy of my previous film Grass Through Concrete (see trailer)
