Hot Docs 2009, The Green Dream Experience

Hot Docs is the biggest Canadian Documentary Festival.  Its popularity has been growing and this year it hit record numbers.  An Industry Forum happens each year during the festival.  It allows filmmakers to meet with broadcasters, distributors, producers, festival programmers and pitch/discuss selling their work.  This was my first time going to Hot Docs and attending the industry forum. (the video above is my reflection on it) The highlight for me was being at a small unofficial closing party at Toronto Island with four of the filmmakers who had given me inspiration at key points of my life and career.

Alanis Obomsawin (her film Kenehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance is a must see for anyone that lives in Canada, well actually anyone!)  Mark Achbar ( The Corporation), Velcrow Ripper (his recent feature Fierce Light, about spiritual activis is opening in theaters right now) and Heather Frise (Bones of the Forest)
