Love is…not what I thought.
As the Beatles sang “All we need is LOVE.”
But what does that mean?
The first week of my challenge has opened my eyes to how little I know about love. I though I would share a conversation I had over chat with my spiritual teacher.
me: I also realized that I have been constantly dabbling between fear and love.
going back and forth but not really making the full commitment
so I decided starting yesterday I would spend 90 days IN LOVE,
The answer to our problems is to shift to live from love
so I have to commit to doing that
I will blog about it and observe myself. Sometimes it sounds so flaky, but I know that is what I have to do
Arathi: yes, you got it. How can you expect people to accept your film (which is about Love) if you don’t accept love, right.
you do it first
me: I have to say the first day and a half has been a bit hard. I constantly am noticing my irritable state and the fact that I am not in love
Arathi: Love is accepting what is.
me: I was just thinking that today! ohhew
Arathi: irritable or not, doesn’t matter, you just love what is
me: i guess it is not a state of constant euphoria?
Arathi: not initially
me: i also don’t know how to deal with getting irritated by people in that state
Arathi: Irritation is only because you have a thought
of judgment.
love it, then you will love the people around you
me: I was expecting myself to feel really good and loving
Arathi: oh no
feeling good is emotional
love is not an emotion
me: so if you gave me the parameters of how to spend 90 days in love
what would they be
Arathi: 90 days of fully surrendering to your judgments
giving in to them, letting them melt
me: ok
me: how can I understand the heart?
I have been obsessed with hearts lately
is the heart the quiet wisdom voice
Arathi: yes, it is on the deeper level
me: it is not the emotions but the wisdom
Arathi: not on the surface emotional level
me: so it has different layers
Arathi: yes, lots of layers
me: when people say you live from your heart does that mean all the layers
Arathi: no, they actually mean from your true self
but most don’t get there
it’s easy to mistake emotional needs with real needs
we need to be informed of the layers and learn to discern truth
from illusion
me: are our emotions similar to our thoughts, they are just programs written in us? but not our soul’s desires?
Arathi: yes
me: but doesn’t our soul talk to us through emotions?
I guess subtle emotions
Arathi: it becomes direct expression when the path is clear in the heart
we actually only have feelings
the ability to feel into others and so on
but emotions is stuck energy
our soul nature is bliss and happiness, peace, beauty
its not emotional
me: so you feel but don’t dwell
Arathi: yes, you feel and move on
exactly
flow
always flow
freedom

[...] 3. Immerse yourself in Love Just remember that the most important thing is to give up control. Be open the fact that the ideas and preconceptions you might start with will probably change. Be as loving to yourself as you are trying to be to others. And most importantly be honest, observe yourself, notice your feelings, thoughts, and patterns. (see some of my observations and questions so far) [...]
